Made on Maui.
Morphed by Oregon.
Hi I’m Liz!
I was born and raised on the island of Maui, the sixth of seven children. I am the first woman in my family to obtain a college degree, earning my BFA in Product Design from the University of Oregon in 2015. I’ve gained experience throughout my life that has shaped my design perspective.
I started my career in undergrad as a remote contract Designer for a Fortune 500 company and went on to work as a contract Designer & Developer for a wide range of clients, from consulting agencies to private individuals and businesses. I started at Ruffwear in 2015 as a remote contract Designer and the next year joined their team in-house as the sole full-time Product Designer. Since then I’ve led initiatives in product design, color strategy, direct-to-consumer strategy, sustainability focused design, and ‘Go-to-Market’ product creation. I now work Independently for all sizes of brands from start-ups, to mid-sized organizations, up to Fortune 500 companies.
I strive to create joyful experiences for everyone who interacts with my work. And with every product I create, I work hard to reduce its carbon impact.
I’m highly skilled in Adobe Illustrator and human-centered design processes. I’m also skilled in Adobe Photoshop and various 3D CAD softwares (including: Solidworks, Rhino, Fusion360, SketchUp) as well as prototyping processes.
I love dance, dogs, great coffee, bad horror films and all manner of puzzles.
You should also know that I take Halloween very seriously.
Don’t be shy,
just say hi :)
